The Virgin Olive Market is open every day, and someone is normally at the front desk during "regular business hours" on weekdays. We also have public events every night of the week, Sunday through Wednesday. Check the event calendar for a detailed schedule.
We will certainly have some volunteering opportunities. Please contact Dina Mack, our Director of Operations for more info, or come visit us on weekdays. If you're interested in helping out even more, please contact our sister organization, Page15.
Yes. We have a rate sheet and a rental contract. We have a few possibilities for room rentals, and some equipment available for an extra fee. We have a partnership with the Virgina Olive Market to handle our on-site catering needs. Please use our event booking form to contact us about room rentals.
We have three levels of participation.
Thinker: Thinkers are our main annual memberships. These are for area creatives, enthusiasts, patrons, and advocates of all varieties. Benefits include free admission to our nightly programming series and access to room/event rentals. Thinker memberships are available at the special charter rate of $45.
Coworker: Coworkers use our workspace as their place of business on a part-time basis (up to 20 hours/week). Coworking dues are $105/month and include many additional amenities.
Resident Creative: Resident Creatives are independent professionals representing a diverse array of creative fields who use our workspace as their primary place of business full time. Resident Creatives receive a full-time, dedicated workspace and many other amenities, including on-site parking. Dues are $295/month.
We do not, as our primary focus is on working-phase adults. As we grow, we look forward to expanded possibilities.
Before Urban ReThink, our space housed the Urban Think! Bookstore. It was a flagship of culture and community in Thornton Park. When the owners decided to close the bookstore, the Urban Think! Foundation rallied a team of creative thinkers to put together the space as we know it today. A vote was cast among the former Bookstore customers, as well as some new friends. In the end, the voting and the planning committee brought us to Urban ReThink, a name that suggests the evolution of the direction of the space as well our fresh approach to working and living creatively.
